Situated on the site of the Artillery Drill Hall, Freo Social brings new life to the historic building as a world-class music venue.

The project included both renovation of the landmark building and large-scale services and hospitality upgrades. Valtari updated the structure and interiors into a contemporary live music venue, along with fit-outs for the beer garden and boutique side bar. The value of the site’s history was a big part of the new design, which strikes a careful balance between modernising the structure and showcasing its past. Valtari’s success in delivering this crucial balance is attested by Freo Social’s return as WA’s iconic home of live music.
